Laptang is handcrafted from carefully selected leather chosen for its tactile character, durability and ability to develop a richer patina with use.
The construction relies on the natural structure of the leather to create its distinctive folded form. Subtle variations in grain, texture, colour and surface markings are inherent to genuine leather and make every Laptang individual.
Like a well-used writing instrument, it is designed to become more personal with time.

Leather is a natural material and develops a distinctive patina with use.
Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth in case of dust or minor spills. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, excessive humidity, heat and direct sunlight.
Condition periodically with a good-quality leather cream to maintain the leather's suppleness and character.
Natural marks, scratches, grain variations and tonal differences are characteristics of genuine leather and part of the individuality of each handcrafted piece.
Laptang takes its name from a village in the Tirap region of Arunachal Pradesh, within the cultural landscape of the Nocte people. The name continues the SKINS stationery vocabulary of drawing from places encountered and remembered through the region. The Tirap Gazetteer records Laptang among the district's Nocte villages.
