A study in everyday writing, the Nyinu is designed for those who carry a full working folio — notebooks, a phone, pens and the papers of the day — without turning the cover into luggage.
Crafted in soft full-grain and top-grain leather that develops a rich, lived-in patina, Nyinu holds a relaxed yet structured silhouette. It snugly fits 3–5 softcover A5 notebooks and sketchbooks of 64–84 pages each. A mid-band elastic keeps the cover closed. Inside, one to three binding strings hold the inserts; the front inner cover takes pens, a mobile phone and loose sheets; the back inner cover holds visiting cards and documents. Dual-tone pockets, a charm and a leather closure are optional.
It is not about carrying everything. It is about carrying the right pages, well.
The name Nyinu is taken from a Wancho village in the hills of Longding, Arunachal Pradesh — the same eastern geography the Creator has walked, photographed and returned to. Like Khonsa, its A6 sister, Nyinu is built around utility, proportion and leather that ages with its owner. This is the larger folio: desk, bag and meeting-table scale.
Designed as a true everyday portfolio — large enough for a working set of notebooks, compact enough to live in a Koshā bag.
Open it on a desk. Slide a phone and two pens into the front inner. Keep cards and a Scriptura folder in the back. Binding strings let you mix a ruled booklet, a sketch pad and loose notes in one cover. The mid-band elastic closes the folio without hardware that can scratch a table or a camera.
Nyinu is built for writers, photographers, travellers and anyone who still thinks on paper — and needs more than a pocket book.
Crafted from carefully selected full-grain and top-grain leather that softens and deepens in colour with use. Natural variations in grain, tone and texture are part of the material’s character and ensure that every piece develops its own individuality.
Edges are cut, burnished and finished by hand. The cover is saddle-stitched. Strings, charm and closures are assembled in the Agra studio. Each Nyinu is independently packed in layers.
Like all SKINS leather pieces, Nyinu is intended to become more personal over time.
